“Unlocking your true nature, inner calm, elevated compassion and higher awareness.” Acharya Samita Rathor

From selling cigarettes to embracing a monk-mind

Samita’s diversified life journey

From the humble origins of selling cigarettes, a path of transformation led her to the majestic Himalayas, immersing her in the sacred wisdom of a traditional monk's existence. Learn a little more about Samita Rathor.

The Spark of Spirituality
A divine encounter shaped her path as a young soul, as she found herself graced by the presence of her revered teacher, Sir T.K.V. Desikachar, a luminary in the realm of Yoga and son of the illustrious Spiritual Soul and Yoga Teacher Professor Krishnamacharya. In the embrace of her teacher's guidance, Samita's journey took flight.

She stood in reverence before the Dalai Lama, receiving the sacred teachings of Buddhism. Under the sacred Bodhi Tree, where Gautama Buddha realized the truth of existence, she immersed herself in profound meditation, forever transformed.

Swami Dayananda Saraswati, a world-renowned teacher of Vedanta, Samita studied under his graceful guidance and tutelage. From a fiery and competitive existence, she transitioned into a secluded realm, uncovering the profound wisdom of self-connection and self-awareness.

Samita experienced the allure of opulent comfort and willingly embraced a minimalist plant-based lifestyle, driven by the desire to understand the essence of life itself—where material possessions offer solace, but not sustained inner peace.

Academia
Samita's quest for knowledge extended beyond the spiritual realms, as her academic endeavours enriched her understanding of the human psyche. With a Master of Science in Psychology and comprehensive Masters/Post Graduate studies in Psychology, Science of Living, Yoga, Meditation, in the Hindu and Jain Traditions, Counselling Psychology, and Clinical Hypnotherapy, she forged a profound integration of ancient wisdom and modern understanding. She has studied Psychology, English and Journalism on an undergraduate level.

She also holds five other postgraduate credentials in Yogic Vedic studies, along with a distinction from the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India and is an All India Topper. A title of Yogacharya was awarded, with over 3000 hours of certified training under her credit. She has formally studied Vedanta under the guidance and tutelage of ancient lineages.

Professional Life
As a publishing cartoonist, columnist, and multi-faceted artist, she has adorned the vibrant pages of expression, while also delving into the realm of entertainment and heavy metal music, gracing stages as a model and actress. Yet, her story extends far beyond the spotlight.

Respecting Animals and Adopting a Plant-Based Diet
She nurtured a virtual dog adoption space and underwent a profound transformation from a non-vegetarian upbringing to a steadfast plant-based diet.
